UK installed 3.31 GW of PV capacity in 2015

UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) - Monthly deployment of all solar photovoltaic capacity in the United Kingdom. 29.01.2016: The UK had 8,667 MW of cumulative installed PV capacity at the end of December 2015, according to the latest figures from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). The country added 168 MW of new PV systems in December, up from 104 MW in November and down from 295 MW in December 2014. The numbers for December and November 2015 are provisional, however, and will be updated in next month's statistics. The UK added 3,319 MW of new PV capacity in 2015. This is up 34.5% from the 2014, when the country registered 2,467 MW of new PV systems. The amount of capacity commissioned under the country’s Renewable Obligation (RO) program stood at 4,001 MW at the end of December, while the amount commissioned under the FIT scheme totaled 3,764 MW. Unaccredited PV systems accounted for most of the remaining capacity. The UK had 842,005 operational PV systems as of the end of December 2015. The UK aims to cover 15% of its domestic electricity demand with renewables by 2020. As part of this goal, the DECC aims to have 22 GW of installed PV capacity by the end of the decade. © PHOTON
