Italy owners of PV plants will pay lower property tax in 2016

The Italian Agency of Revenue announced that starting from 2016 the value of PV modules and inverters must not be included in the determination of the cadastral rent.
4.02.2016: The Italian Agency of Revenue announced that starting from 2016 the value of PV modules and inverters must not be included in the determination of the cadastral rent. The cadastral rent is the basis to calculate the amount of the municipal property tax IMU ((Imposta Municipale Propria). This means that owners of PV plants will pay a lower IMU this year. The owners of smaller rooftop PV systems, however, will still have to include the value of solar modules and inverters in the cadastral rent and will pay the same amount they paid in 2015. The measure was included in the 2016 Stability Law, which was approved by the Italian Parliament in late December. © PHOTON
